Step-07 Flexibility Test

FBE internal coating of pipes,Flexibility Test will be done as per API RP 5L7 for PQT to assure the coating has adequate flexibility for bending or reeling. Test 2.5/PD at 5°C Bending test specimen has no cracks considered.Test specimen plates required as per manufacturer and client recommendation,which has been coated along with pipes and fittings.

Step-08 CD Testing Without Primer

CD test provides an accelerated adhesion assessment of the internal coating of pipes shall be done as per API RP 5L7 for PQT only.Test specimen will be (100mm square X 6mm thick) coated as per manufacturer recommendation.
CD test should be done as per API RP 5L7 (48hrs@66°C,-1.5V).After evaluation maximum average radius of 8mm is acceptable as per client required.

Step-09 Thermal Characteristics-DSC Analysis

The glass transition temperature (Tg) and the amount of exothermic heat of reaction (ΔH) of FBE powder of or FBE internal coating of pipes should be found by a DSC Analyzer.The percentage of curing can be calculated by this test.This test shall be conducted in accordance with CSA Z245.20-02/NACE RP 0394.The Tg of FBE powder and coated film shall be as per manufacturer’s recommendation.
The acceptable cure characterstics of coated film shall be. ΔTg = -2°C to +3V°C
Cure = 95% Minimum
